Moving from Shopify to WordPress
I’m still learning this site. I have been moving my site around a few times trying to find the best place for my art. I tried Fourthwall for a few months and its very easy to use, but also incredibly basic with very few options and customizations. I tried Shopify many times, but its around 40 a month and is a close system meaning they own and pretty much control all of your content.
So now I’m here on WordPress.org using Bluehost to host my domains. We’ll see how it goes, as there is a pretty steep learning curve, but I’m picking things up pretty quickly. But this blog for example, I’m not even sure where it will end up on the page or how to add the navigation to it, but I’ll figure it out.
I know Squarespace just jacked up their pricing, and while Shopify hasn’t yet, they will eventually. This way I’m pretty much only paying for hosting and not limited to the constraints of one corporation as this is all open source. Once again, we’ll see how it goes.
