The Well of Lost Souls

While none of us knows what happens after we die, I like to think there is some kind of cosmic justice. While I do believe that most of us will go to a spirit world where we can rest and recover until we are ready to be reincarnated.

I feel there is another place for truly awful people. I don't mean someone who cussed or cheated on their taxes. I'm talking about people who made it their mission to inflict as much harm and suffering on others as possible.

I think this place may be the Well of Lost Souls where they are suspended in a state of partial nonexistence, but still self aware. 

I know for some that isn't the ideal punishment, but I think it's the best outcome that makes the most sense. 

I long stopped believing in a concept of hell or eternal torment. I find that exceptionally cruel and almost abusive to reach to children. So after reading about lots of cultures views on death, this is where I landed.
